(another journal entry with no reference)

in the narnia series, you can feel the excitement and anticipation when the characters utter the phrase “alsan is on the move.” they are waiting for something, anything, to happen to get them out of the current situation they are in…(witches, usurping uncles, and other such things)
aslan’s anticipated coming is enough to get blood pumping, to bring bring courage to dead hearts, to inspire people to action…and in
reading about it, you can catch a sense of that yourself.

but when God is “on the move” in real life, how much more should that stir our souls! to raise us up out of our inactivity, to wrest us from fear and our ‘safety’ we have built for ourselves. if we can read a book, or watch a movie and get inspired, what should God’s movement do to us? how should we then respond?
can we sit idly by and act as if nothing is going on? do we dig deeper into our holes for fear of being moved or asked to do something great? why do we cower when we should leap? why do we shirk when we should take up? why shouldn’t we stand and cry out for joy when God, our God is on the move?

Father, move us. move Your people to action. stir our hearts in a way that cannot be ignored. bring us down whatever road You must in order to wake us up, open our mouths and cause us to sing Your praises on the street corners. we will follow in Your wake…simply lead us Father. bring life to these dead bones.
amen.
