This is what God expects from me today…you, too.

(unmarked journal entry)

at some point, after hearing the straightforward Truth of God, we must make the decision to act on what He has told us. To continue on debating and hemming and hawing and never really acting on God’s desires in our lives just shows how non-committal we really are…

life is choice.

when God says to do something, it’s time to do it! when God says to move, that moment is when we should move. when God tells us to help someone, that singular point in time is when they need to start receiving aid.

choices have consequences.

our actions in every respect, every area of life are supposed to be dedicated to God, but not out of a sense of obligation or to do it for the sake of doing it. God doesn’t want empty hearted action. He wants His people to act out of love and compassion in the lives of others, just as He has acted in theirs.

choose wisely.

There is no great mystery here…no hidden reason why God doesn’t want hidden ritual. He is personally engaged with us & so we should be personally engaged with Him and His people. we act out of love and mercy and compassion for God’s sake, and theirs, not to make ourselves feel better or to fill some need for recognition, or to stroke our own ego.

every decision we make reflects that first decision we made in regards to following God. everyone who has been presented with the Gospel message has made their decision already. either we decided to act and give our lives over to God, or we chose to do things on our own. it’s like invitation time at church, either you can choose to take what was said that week, apply it to your life and make a difference for the kingdom,  or you can choose to ignore the word of God in your life and do whatever it is that you want to do. you cannot walk away having made no choice.

we must make the decision

life is choice.

choices have consequences.

choose wisely.
