the pride we have in ourselves will always lead to our downfall. the might of the Creator of the universe has been pushed aside in favor of the puny push of a man. we trust in our own abilities & assume that what we perceive as a positive event is an ‘atta-boy’ from God. we drag the standards of God down into the filth of our own desires – power, lust, greed, envy…all brought up as if they were quality items. they are the scrapings from the stall keeper’s boots, and we act as though it is the treasure of kings.

forgive us Father for our arrogance, purposeful ignorance and mistreatment of others. help us Father! send Your Spirit in strength by the road Jesus made into the hearts of your undeserving children. help us to stand & be silent no more!

i am intrigued by the number of times ‘how long Lord?” and it’s variants are used in Scripture. because when i see things like this, i wonder how much longer God’s wrath can be stemmed back. what a wash of grace flows from the One who should crush our base materials into oblivion. our chemical structures should be dissipated into nothingness, and yet He continues to allow us more time.

You amaze me Father. i am in awe of just who You are (even given my finite perception of Your infinite glory.)

what is it that you are trying to pull off as being of real quality in your life right now? what are you most excited about/proud of?

does that effort reflect the will of God or the desires of only your heart?

what needs to be done to make those goals you have fall into line with God’s expectations for you?

what needs to be removed in order to make that happen? (how will you go about asking God for the help to do that?)

what will the new results look like & how will they improve your life & witness for Jesus?
