(unmarked journal entry – presumably from matthew 20)
the great reversal…
we still aren’t used to that. we cut ahead in traffic, we hurry to beat someone to the line @ the store. there are a lot of adults that act a lot like children when it comes to their wants. but there aren’t nearly enough adults acting like children when it comes to faith.
having that faith that Jesus speaks of requires a sacrifice of the perceived security we have built up for ourselves. we must learn to trust God unconditionally. He accepts us despite all of our sins, and we should accept Him because of His perfection and glory.
childlike faith, once you have become hard and cynical, can be difficult and seem dangerous.
but as Christians, we must operate on the level of a child, trusting Him each and every day.

this is my first ‘official’ day back after taking the Kairos course for the first time. it is an international course, so no matter where you are, if you are in a country that is even remotely free, there should be an opportunity somewhere within a reasonable distance (globally speaking) to be able to take the course. i took the 5 day ‘intensive’ option with the facilitators training for two days after that. other than having to adapt to having homework for the first time in over a decade (reading and a worksheet for contemplation) everything went very well. i enjoyed the course immensely, and i cannot encourage you strongly enough to take this course if you ever have the opportunity.
i have thought about trying to post a journal on the experience, but i will probably wait until after this section from matthew is over. i am still processing everything from the past week and a half, and i don’t want to jump on it too soon. so a little time for my thoughts to steep, and then i will share what i have come to understand so far.
by the way, i took my course through team expansion, and they have plenty of global representatives, so you can contact them if you want more information.
