Oh come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth;
the heights of the mountains are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down;
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture,
and the sheep of his hand.
Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts,
as at Meribah, as on the day at Massah in the wilderness,
when your fathers put me to the test and put me to the proof,
though they had seen my work.
Psalm 95:1-9 ESV
Only God is worthy of our praise.
That is not to say that our praise is something extra special and wonderful, but it is God, the recipient of your praise that is amazing and marvelous and holy and awesome and gracious and splendid and the very definition of ‘good.’ He alone is wonderful, and He leaves our hearts and minds wonder-filled. Only God is worthy of praise.
And so we sing and shout and dance before The Lord. We serve and work and worship in His presence, every action, every moment given over to Him as a part of our life-song. The collective chorus of years we give to Him, and only Him, praising Him above all else.
We come with thanksgiving in our hearts, and we enter His courts with praise, claiming that today is His, that we are His, and in that fact alone we find reason to worship Him.
Mystery beyond mystery, God above all, we praise Him. Clothed in flesh, The Word walked. Veiled in mystery, the Father wills and the Spirit moves, and our salvation comes through Him, the Triune God. Our Master and mentor, our Savior and King, we give all our noise and effort to Him as our gift.
Not just on Sunday mornings, but in every moment of every day. It is what we were created for: worship in living for Him.
He has loved us so well, and given us everything we experience. His motion in our life is love, and there is none like Him. And since He first loved us, we go and proclaim just how wonderful and awesome and mighty He is to anyone and everyone we meet.
GoLove others today as you live your life of worship for Him!
