“16 As He was passing along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, Simons brother. They were casting a net into the sea, since they were fishermen.
17 Follow Me, Jesus told them, and I will make you fish for people! 18 Immediately they left their nets and followed Him. 19 Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in their boat mending their nets. 20 Immediately He called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed Him.”

You know what’s amazing? With everything that is world throws at us, with all the doubts, distractions and dismay, God has provided us with a purpose for every single day we draw breath on His green earth. We never need to wake up and wonder if we are good for anything, we never need to be concerned about our purpose in life.
He has provided for us, in abundance, with more meaning than we can comprehend. He has included us in His plans, His projects and His purposes. What a joy! What a reassurance! No Christian ever needs to feel inadequate. No Christ-follower ever needs to think for a moment that they have nothing to contribute! Every single one of us has a part to play in bringing glory to God in Christ! His glory is our main concern. His ministry is our love. His goals give us ample reason to wake up and feel like we have something concrete to accomplish today.
We don’t deserve it, and sometimes we even have a hard time accepting it for ourselves, but it’s true. It really is, and it is something to be excited about! Something to feel a sense of urgency for, and a desire to share and love and go and serve and teach and all the other wonderful things that Jesus commissioned us to do when He told us to HoLove the world in His Name! What joy! What a fellowship we have been given!
Why do you go to work? To share Christ!
Why do you have friends and family? To serve them as Christ would!
Why do you have neighbors and a community? So that they can see Christ at work in you and glorify God because of it!
The ministry of the believer, our priesthood in Christ, is a blessing beyond measure, and we should all be eager and anxious to take a hold of it, run with it, and find the joy of our lives in it!
Don’t over complicate it. Just live it.
Let Him lead, and just run with Him!
Let Him be the rhythm of your day and the passion in your heart!
