“18 May the Lord God, the God of Israel,
who alone does wonders, be praised.
19 May His glorious name be praised forever;
the whole earth is filled with His glory.
Amen and amen.”
Psalm 72:18-19

Focus where it belongs equates to a properly given effort and a heart of singular intent. This is what we bring to God, the full dedication of our hearts and the concentrated efforts of our lives.
He doesn’t get our leftovers or second efforts. He doesn’t receive our passive, nonchalant, less than best. Instead, the first fruits of our hearts, the initial gleanings of our time, talents and treasure belong with Him.
And when God is given this exclusive priority in our lives, then the outpouring of this effort becomes obviously, outwardly pointed toward Him. The Christian life is not mysterious about its intent, but is outwardly expressed through any and every means we have. God is praised in the joyful, exciting moments of our lives and in the mundane. He is celebrated in every moment in between, because our hearts are given over to Him and because our joy overflows from Him.
The earth itself, the universe in all its splendor, both are actively singing His praises. So should we be singularly focused on Him, reverently dedicated, like one of the articles of the Tabernacle, for His great glory.
