There is a definite line between trying to manipulate God into doing what you want and calling on Him to ‘Rise up’ like Asaph does here. As a loving Father, YHWH stands up for His children. He protects and provides. But He also knows better than we do, and He will not grant foolish requests.

But when we hurt, when we are scared & wounded, we call out to Him and we seek Him out. This call to rise up is based out of need and shows that we are absolutely reliant on Him. And as good, kind, loving Father, we know that He will come to our aid. He has His own solutions and His own ways, but He will respond to the cries of His children.

Trust in Him. Cry out to Him in your need. Seek His face and His glory and know that God is with those who find their refuge and salvation in Him. He is faithful and His love knows no ends. Trust in Him. Seek His will and wisdom in every situation. And share the encouragement He gives as you GoLove others in His Name.
