Listen to this. Think about this.
5 You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”

Think about this. Anywhere you go. Whatever you do.
Christ before you, Christ behind you, Christ beside you, Christ above you, Christ below you. He hems us in from all sides. We are never alone, never apart from Him. Clothed in Christ we find our existence wrapped up in Him, dedicated to Him, pointed at Him and glorifying the Father through Him.
You are not alone.
Maybe you just needed to hear that today. You are never alone.
Sure, life sucks sometimes. Things are hard & people can be jerks. But really, is that a surprise? This whole world is broken. We can’t be shocked when that brokenness shows itself or when we get cut by its jagged edge. But here’s what does matter, that God walks through this all with us. We are never, ever alone. We are never, ever by ourselves. This is such good news. Hemmed in before and behind. He is watching us, watching out for us and sharing this good grace through His Holy Spirit’s intimate presence.
Rest in this today. This is good news! This is good news for you.
I know it can be hard to remember. But we must trust and obey as we wait in Him. We must listen and have faith that our God is faithful, that He is near and that He knows our hurts, concerns and worries. He is too good to ignore, too great to avoid celebrating. He is our everything & we need to let Him be our everything.
Only when we let go of everything else and cling to Him will we really get it. And we will find peace in this place with Him. Anywhere we go, there He is. What a blessed assurance for each and every day. He loves us too much to leave us alone, or to leave us to our own devices. He is love, and He loves us enough to be there for us even when we may not be aware of it…
